La Pedrera

I never really ‘got’ Gaudi until I actually visited Barcelona and saw his work in person. His eccentric genius may seem overdone, weird and baroque until you see it in person and can appreciate his love of organic forms and ingenious building techniques. This handful of images was taken in the attic of ‘La Pedrera’ (The Quarry), an apartment building he designed and built. Sheer visual delight is the only way to describe the experience I had when I visited.

This series is printed using a variety of processes: palladium, gum-over-palladium, silver gelatin and inkjet.
